Path to the Truth Truth

THE current, worldwide emotional turbulence and chaos brought on the train of the rampant distortion of information and facts is mind boggling. We live in a world where facts are so distorted and packaged as the gospel truth that those who actually experienced the truth begin to question their own sanity How in the world did the human mind coin a phrase such as; Alternative Facts?

To state the obvious; Truth is Truth. Once one bends clear facts and gives a narrative that does not accord with the facts and thus the truth, it is nothing but falsehood. Falsehood remains falsehood. A lie remains a lie.

How could we have sunk to this level of intentional mass deception!

Some among us ascribed this to the Free Will. Our Creator’s gift of the free will to decide the direction to which every man or woman can channel his or her volition. Has this gift now become a curse to man? Some now wonder.

Behold! within the vast grandeur and wealth of abundance around him in his father’s household, a child lies, unconscious of this abundance, his responsibilities, his talents and abilities. In the midst of the splendor, he is incapable of awakening these abilities and talents, but within him burns a desire to be self-conscious.

Now out of love, his elder siblings who are self-conscious in surging, joyful activities, fully conscious of the vast abundance, what it proffers coupled with their responsibilities plead the father to afford the child an opportunity to step out of the household into an environment in which he can awaken his latent talents, his abilities and be conscious of his personality.

For such a child, it cannot but be a blessing if the father grants the siblings’ petition.

Thus, out of love, the father grants their petition. He brings a distant land into being and at the appropriate time lets the child onto it with necessary protection. Also at the appropriate time the child is given the tools that he needs for his development in the distant land. Prominent among these tools is the Free Will to decide the direction to channel his volition so he can experience “Cause and Effect” in the myriads and varying decisions he is bound to make out in the distant land.

Much is expected of the child; awaken to a self-conscious being as he develops his talents and abilities and return home fully mature to partake in the joyful activities in his father’s kingdom. Thus, goes the story of man.

A seed cannot germinate and sprout in air. It needs the consistency of the soil, providing it the necessary conditions for germination. The gross material world is the soil to the developing spiritual; man into which he has descended as a spirit-germ. It provides the necessary conditions he needs for awakening his latent abilities and mature to self-consciousness.

Indeed, the fact that we can question the blessing in the Free Will shows that man has a gross misunderstanding of the nature of the Free Will and its origin. Some among us think of the Free Will as something forcefully brought into being by the brain when our intellect dictates a definite direction, the course of action for our thoughts and feelings. That is NOT the Free Will.

That is a will bound by the earthly intellect; the “bound” will. It is not free. The real Free Will is not anchored in the brain. It has no connection with our earthly body. It is an intrinsic part of the spirit, the inner core of man. It’s the will of this inner core of man; the spirit.

The Free Will was given to man so that he can use it, unencumbered in this part of creation, where he is faced daily with the decisions to indulge in either noble or ignoble activities.

Thus, in it, man has a tool he can use to decide freely on which to indulge and through the reciprocal actions experience the consequences.

Consequent upon his choice of noble activities, man experiences his latent pure qualities, abilities and talents being awakened, stirred up and strengthened. But for the ignoble activities, the evil consequences stuck to him as guilt which he must redeem.

Here, in this part of creation, man has been uniquely placed in an environment where, as a consequence of his Free Will, he can experience happiness, joy, bliss, sadness, heartaches etc.

For man, the decision is indeed free, the consequence is however binding and unswerving. But man is meant to mature through every act of his free will.

Man is meant to learn the necessary lessons inherent in each experience and in the process mature to that which he is meant to be; a child of God. He is to awaken his pure qualities and talents so that upon returning home, he can be fully conscious of joyful activities and his responsibility in the Father’s household; Paradise.

But for thousands of years many of us have so entangled ourselves in the web of the consequences of our activities; redeeming our guilt continuously as well as reaping the fruits of our noble actions, that these seem to have beclouded the activities of the Free Will. We speak of fate, destiny and karma. All these are words coined by man to describe his varying experiences compelled by the immutable Justice of the Almighty which stipulates; “Whatsoever a man soweth, that he shall also reap.”

Now we know that this law is in place to provide the balance for the given Free Will. It is forever active in the midst of what we call fate, destiny or karma.

What essentially is the purpose of the dreaded karma?

In simple terms, karma is to awaken one to the recognition of one’s guilt and thus to the recognition of the evil or the ignoble in the experience which has brought the karma into being. If this happens, one cannot but wish fervently not to be engaged in such an ignoble act, ever. This is naturally an inner change for the good which can lead to nothing but blessings.

The penitent thief recognized Christ, His Being and His Divine Origin as he hung on the cross in His proximity and he framed his conviction with appropriate words. Through this recognition he immediately saw the evil in the life he had led hitherto and clearly saw that he did deserve his suffering on the cross. Christ clearly saw these happenings and put a seal on the penitent thief’s redemption through His Words.

Verily, I say to thee, Today shall thou be with me in Paradise”.

 (Lk 23:43, KJV).

Only what is purely noble and good can issue out of the Kingdom of the Almighty. Thus, the driving power behind falsehood and like-terms such as Alternative Facts remains the bound will. It cannot be the Free Will which is inherent in the spirit; that which in reality is man.

May we all be thankful to the Lord for every free decision we made through His boundless Love.
